New SimpleMesh Sniffer!

We have completely overhauled our SimpleMesh Sniffer. We now have a Windows executable and we have also posted a binary sniffer image. All you need to load the binary image is our U2U and our JIB. Then you can start seeing over the air frames sent between your SimpleMesh nodes – This will really help make your network debugging easy!! Head on over to our software page and check it out!

There really isn’t a less expensive sniffer setup on the market that we know of!

IPSO Challenge 2013

Colin and I had a few spare minutes, hard to come by these days, so we brewed up a project to enter in the IPSO Challenge 2013. The Wall Street Journal picked up the news release, you can read it here. Here’s the link to a video we threw together to show our idea.

Updates to Documents and Tools!

What’s Wrong With Adobe?

A lot of folks have been telling me the links in the “RadioBlocks Quick Start Guide” are incorrect. Turns out that Adobe, somehow, messes up about 40% of the URLs. It adds characters or changes them and then the link doesn’t work. The only trick I found is to get the Pro version of Adobe Acrobat and edit the PDF directly and replace the bad links, it’s a drag but it works… So, there is now a new RadioBlocks Quick Start Guide posted and as far as I can tell the links work!

RadioBlocks Schematic Posted!

Since we were mucking around with the guide we also decided that we better, finally, get the schematic posted – Check it out under Downloads/Documents.

New RadioBlocks Commander GUI/Command Line Interface!

Check out the new RadioBlock Commander GUI and Command Line Interface (CLI) at:

http://www.assembla.com/code/radioblocks-commander/git/nodes. There are some instructions in the aforementioned RadioBlocks Quick Start Guide.

Bear in mind this is all open source and that most of the work is volunteer based and there are some quirks. All us volunteers are working as fast as possible to fix them. There will be new updates to the GIT repo often so check it out! BTW, any volunteers out there ? Send me an email!

Spammers Suck!

While we are pretty new to the web side of technology, coming from deep embedded backgrounds, we are learning. We started getting a lot of spam on the forum – Yuck. If you ask me spam(mers) = criminal(s)! Since we are using WordPress to drive our site we are fortunate that there are guys like Keith P. Graham out there writing “stopforumspam” plugins for WordPress. We are going to donate to his project!!

Also, our ISP is working in the background to make the filters better. Our ISP has confirmed that all user data (email address) are secure. Hang in there while we tweak our site to make it more spam proof, we’re being vigilant to remove crap that gets through as soon as we see it…

The store is open!

We finally got our estore up and running – Huge thanks to our ISP folks (Xtomic) here in Colorado Springs! Although a lot of gear is on back order we have some stuff we can ship immediately. We are expecting our next shipments of both RadioBlocks and BORAs to arrive this week. From the invoicing we’ve seen we should be able to complete all the RadioBlock Kickstarter rewards and put a big dent into the BORA rewards!  Stay tuned for more info…
